Conscious Control

Can information be relied upon to be from the subconscious if provided while the patient is relaxed? Does the patient have the ability to censor, amend or change the information he gives to the therapist?

On the first weekend of the training course, we had been discussing how much conscious control a patient has of what they may say whilst hypnotised. Was the information automatically from the subconscious if provided while the patient was relaxed? Do people have the ability to alter, amend of censor their responses? As is so often the case, I need not have given explanations as the volunteer patients teach so well on their own!
