Feeling Emotional

Emotions are what ‘feelings’ are built upon.
Feelings are the conscious reaction to subconscious emotions.
You know when you give someone a gift and they say “Oh, you shouldn’t have” yet their face lights up; they are happy. If they say “Oh how lovely” but their face says ‘yuergh’; they are not best pleased.
Same situation; different reaction. Regardless of what is said, it is their emotional reaction which lets you know what is really going on inside their minds.
In treatment, knowing the emotions experienced allows the therapist a better insight into how a patient reacted to a particular incident.
