Reading from Scripts

I’m just starting out in practice and don’t yet have the experience or confidence to rely on my own words, is there any reason why I should not just read out scripts to my patients in order to induce relaxation or introduce particular techniques?

Question:  Is it ok to read scripts to patients? Until I have more experience with the induction or introducing various techniques, are there any reasons why I shouldn’t just read them out to patients, rather than trying to remember what to say?


It’s very easy for it to sound ‘read’ which could cause us to look less than professional, less experienced. It’s easy to say things like,
