Socialising with Patients

I have a friend who lives in another part of the UK but who visits my local area occasionally. She has a friend who wants to stop smoking. I have spoken to this woman on the phone, and on the face of it she ticks all the right boxes for the one off non smoking session.

My friend is suggesting that they both come up to visit me for the day, and after treatment – which I would do immediately after meeting the client, so she only knows me professionally to start off – we all go for a meal etc.

Could socialising afterwards undo any of my work professionally eg credibility and therefore should I insist that I treat the friend and then they go home or whatever, or do you think that no harm would come of time spending time together afterwards?
